His words

float

over the conversation

and disappear.

Awkward words wanting

so much to touch

another's thoughts

so their thoughts

will touch him back.

He is left abandoned

in the crowd,

in the universe

of his fears. 

Moving On

Moving On

The wide-eyed moon

approved

of my leaving,

living my life with passion.

The sun had nothing to say

of my journey

having yet awakened

from the slumber of the past.

I smiled at the wide-eyed moon,

finding my road easy

lined with light, life

and excitement.

Morning Bird

When I hear their song

as morning rises,

I am ignorant of their name.

What is a word



when the self surrenders

to the sound

and finds the humanity

that dances

to the delight of living.
